A Six-member ODC Established for a US Interior Design Company.(28 Sep, 2007)

Shinetech has recently signed an ODC project to develop DPC(Decorating Process Controller) and AIC(Appointment Information Collector) for a large interior design company of the United States.

DPC is an online product selection/colorization program. The user selects products from the product database and prints a contract for the customer and then, a purchase order is generated, after that, the system electronically orders all products from each vendor and subsequently lets each installation company install it after receiving electronic notification of product. This program helps to make the process exceptionally efficient! No paper work, no calculators, and no phone tag. All numbers (cost, labor, additional quantity for pattern, customer credit, etc.) for contracts, work orders are calculated by the program, alleviating possible calculation error.

The application developed using Microsoft technologies of .Net 3.5, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, with Jira for bug tracking and new feature management. The entire process is managed by Confluence-Wiki. The development tools include Visual Studio .Net 2005 and PDF Library. Version control adopts TSVN.

AIC Program is an online scheduling tool allowing the user to schedule a home owner’s appointment with the design center around the clock from anywhere throughout the world, only if the user is access to the internet. As soon the appointment is scheduled, an E-mail notification will be sent to everyone involved, which assures “no-one is caught unaware” of the appointment. Employees receive an E-mail with all information specific to the appointment, while Customer Email has all appointment information, with various electronic links for company or vendor information. This tool saves hours of frustration with phone tag, checking and comparing other employee schedules by using the old appointment book or spreadsheet.

The client gave a high praise on the team's performance and is now negotiating with Shinetech on the third MSDM( Materials and Suppliers Data Manager) Project.
