Shinetech announced the Beta release of Linux Kiosk. (22 September,2003)

After one and a half month integration and testing, Shinetech today announced the beta release of Kiosk operating system with a user interface based on Linux system for our American customer.

The customer is a network management and technical support outsourcing firm with 10 years of engineering experience. They specialize in Local and Wide Area Network Services and Internet Connectivity.

Linux Kiosk Operation System, with a web browser as the interface is similar to a touch screen system. User can enter any URL he wants to go from the interface. And the administrator can remotely control the system, such as reboots, operating system updates, changing screen savers, advertising and so on. Thus it works as a powerful browser but user can't go to the background management. The software can be widely used in hotel, restaurant, subway and such public places.

Shinetech developed the system based on Linux (DEBIAN) technology. Depending on the feedback, Shinetech will make enhancements and fix bugs to make a final release along with all documents.
